TRAVELING


Wytheville, Virginia is an important point on both I-77 and I-81 and lies amidst a wrong-way concurrency of I-77 and I-81. It is located about halfway between Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia and Roanoke. On the I-77 corridor, it is located about halfway between Charleston, West Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina. The nearby community of Fort Chiswell is the control city for the northbound traffic on I-77 coming from Charlotte, Statesville, Elkin, and Mount Airy, North Carolina. In the near future, Interstate 74 will go through Wytheville in addition to the two other interstates.

Due to the confluence of I-77, I-81 and several U.S. Highways, and its location in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wytheville is known as "The Hub of Southwest Virginia" and "the Crossroads of the Blue Ridge". [1]

From I-77 and I-81
1. Take the US-52 S/VA-121 N exit, EXIT 80, toward Fort Chiswell/Max Meadows

2. Turn left onto VA-121/Fort Chiswell Rd. Continue to follow Fort Chiswell Rd.

3. Turn right onto Ivanhoe Rd/VA-94.
Ivanhoe Rd is 0.1 miles past Lavender Rd
If you reach Pioneer Trl you've gone a little too far

4. Turn right onto Huddle Rd/VA-69/VA-619.
If you reach Bishop Rd you've gone about 0.2 miles too far

5. 1832 Huddle Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382-5554, is on the right.
If you are on VA-69 and reach VA-643 you've gone about 1.4 miles too far
